Loxley, Ala. – Baldwin Preparatory Academy has welcomed Mary Lacoste as its newest assistant principal for the 2026-2027 school year. Lacoste joins current assistant principal Tony Rogers, filling a position within Baldwin Prep’s existing leadership team. Together, Lacoste and Rogers will support the academy’s growing student body, staff, and expanding career pathway programs as demand for Baldwin Prep’s career-focused educational opportunities continues to increase.
“Baldwin Prep continues to grow because families and students recognize the value of providing meaningful opportunities that connect education to life after high school,” said Principal, Adam Sealy. “With that growth comes the need to continue our expanded leadership capacity. Tony and Mary bring different experiences and strengths to the role, and together they will help us continue providing the level of support our students and staff deserve.”
Rogers is entering his third year at Baldwin Preparatory Academy and continues to serve as an assistant principal. He brings 27 years of experience in education, including 16 years as a social science teacher. In addition to his education background, he holds a homebuilder’s license and has extensive personal experience with homebuilding, remodeling, and construction. His interests and professional experience have provided a natural connection to the hands-on, career-focused opportunities offered at Baldwin Prep.
“I want Baldwin Preparatory Academy to be a place where every student discovers a pathway that gives them purpose and prepares them for success after high school,” Rogers said. “Whether that pathway leads to college, a skilled trade, or directly into the workforce, our goal is to make sure students leave us confident, prepared, and equipped with the skills, work ethic, and character to succeed.”
Joining Rogers and the leadership team is Mary Lacoste. A Mobile native, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of South Alabama and holds teaching certifications in English and history. She later earned a master’s degree in Library Media from the University of West Alabama, along with an Instructional Leadership certification.
Lacoste brings 17 years of experience in Mobile schools, including 12 years in the classroom and five years as a media specialist. She joined Baldwin County Public Schools as an assistant principal at Spanish Fort High School in 2022 before moving to Baldwin Preparatory Academy this summer.
“I want Baldwin Preparatory Academy to be a place where students discover what they are passionate about and gain the skills and confidence they need for their future,” Lacoste said. “Through our career pathways, I hope we continue giving students meaningful, hands-on experiences that connect what they learn in the classroom to real-world opportunities. Ultimately, I want every student to leave Baldwin Prep with a plan, a purpose, and excitement about what comes next,” she said.
As enrollment and interest in Baldwin Prep’s career-focused programs continue to increase, Rogers and Lacoste will work collaboratively with teachers, students, families, and industry partners to provide the guidance and support students need to make the most of the academy’s hands-on learning opportunities and career pathways while preparing them for success beyond high school.
